How Conscious are You?

Educating and empowering New Orleans communities through workshops that cover relevant issues pertaining to their environmental and social sustainability.

In November 2007, we started a "kick off" of sustainable workshops in the Lower Ninth Ward.

Opening the floor with "What does sustainable mean to you?" An array of ideas, heartfelt concerns, and passions echoed how individuals can take part in rebuilding communities once lost but not forgotten. The presentation delved into the history of climate change and disaster reduction strategies useful in a post disaster. At the end, participants were given sustainable tips for the home that instill attainable habits to reduce high energy cost, and encourage a resilient home.
